Our garden

Hi everyone.
Just wanted to show you some photos of our new garden. Its huge and takes forever to mow the lawn (thank you eldest child for volunteering!!).
Behind the fence are fields and a beautiful wood.
I would love to get some chickens as we have so much room so was wondering if any of you already have some and could offer some advice?
We have got some shrubs to put in but I still can't decide where to put them!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend,

Congratulations on your new home, and your new garden! Lots of space for you all!! Sounds lovely with the wood just behind you, I am quite envious, would love to move out of London and enjoy some quality "country life". Thanks for sharing your pictures xxx

Wow . . . where do you start with a garden that size lol!! It's fab, I'm really envious. DH has just put a lawn down in the front of the house (the largest of our 2 gardens (the back is tiny)) & I thought I was doing well until I saw these photos.

Chickens are great for bugs and stuff, but I gotta warn ya - they will poop everywhere, and I mean everywhere! ;) Nice garden - it's so big!

That is a huge garden!! I would love to have a huge garden but wouldn't like to have to cut the grass either! lol I would need to leave that to someone else! Hope all is well with you. L x

Congrats on your new home from me too :) Fab garden. You already know my views on chickens so I won't even go there LOL. Saying that though with your garden being so big you could always divide it. We've done that minus the chickens! My OH wanted some chickens but after seeing what chicken pie and his hoppos have done to next door that's been ruled out. He still wants a bee hive them hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Anyway the first part of the garden is planted up and we have a 25 foot rhoddenderron and greengage treealong the middle with a path at one side and arounf the back of the green house with is hidden from the house by the divide. Then next to the greengage tree we have a arch and then a 40 foot monster tree. The back half of the garden has the shed, greenhouse, veg patch and fruit garden in.

I love having the garden in two parts there is always somewhere shady or warm to sit (British weather permitting) and I can escape to my veg patch and the huge divide drowns out the noise of the children fighting LOL, bliss :)
