Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to say Happy Father's day to all the Dads out there...especially to the Dads who are serving in the Armed Forces and can't be at home for this special day.

No matter what you may think of the wars in Iraq and Afganistan...they are our heroes.

Just for you....

Well I've not had much of a chance to blog this week as I've been busy, busy, busy as some of you will have found when the postie arrived today!!! The two wallets in the top picture I made for Debs and Lil'G...and apparently Lil'G kept saying WOW!!LOL! (And yet again I've nicked your photo Debs!!!)
I started a fantastic new job this week. I'm working in a tiny haberdashery in town one day a week whilst Belle is in nursery. What's so special about this shop is that it is run by the local authority and is also a learning centre for adults with learning difficulties. So as well as working in the shop I also get to spend hours in the attached room teaching crafting...its heaven! They are a fantastic group of characters and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
Well enough of me rambling on...the bottom card is for someone very special who has given me the confidence to do my blog and show my little creations to you all...but I can't say who just yet!!LOL!
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend,

Beautiful Belle

Hello from a very cloudy Elgin!
I adore Marieke and her creations are just stunning! I've done quite a few cards using her downloads but have never sent them to anyone as they are so far off what I normally do.
Anyway when I saw these huge frames on her etsy shop I knew I had to bite the bullet and have another go...well if I don't try different things then you lot have nothing to laugh at!!
I also want to thank the girls over at CCC for their support this week. That thing in my skull is playing up, or so the Doc says, (and the difference from normal I here you ask!?!) and they have all pulled together to kick my butt...thanks girls!
And to Roz...watch out for the post!!! (Giggling hysterically!!)
Catch up with you all soon,

My birthday boy!

Before anyone says anything I know the picture is rubbish but both my kids have got chicken pox's so have not had the time to mess around with it!!!lol!
It was my scrummy hubbies 40th yesterday...and yes he did laugh when he saw the photo...we think he was about 5 at the time!
The metal circle is from an old necklace that Belle managed to break...and the paper is...whispering now...Tesco's wrapping paper...well it was just what I was looking for!LOL!
Karen over at CCC gave me this idea..so many thanks Karen!
I hope everyone is well,x

An ickle lickle thank you.....

To the fantastic Debby for sending me this!! Its beautiful!
It's actually an altered CD and when I saw a similar one on her blog I fell in love with it...pink and ribbons...heaven.
Debby is also a designer for crafty templates (my June pack arrived this morning and its lush!) and is one very talented lady!
Thanks babe...its now taking pride of place in my craft room!

Oscar, my little boy

Fifteen years ago I received a phonecall to say that a cat had been thrown out of a car in Peterborough. When we found her she was giving birth and luckily all five kittens survived. Mum and her babies were handed over the to the Cats Protection League and I would phone on an almost daily basis to see how they were doing.
Eight weeks later three of the kittens had been rehomed but nobody was interested in a tiny scrap of a ginger boy or his black and white sister.
So Oscar and Molly came home to us. We had three fantastic years with them (they fitted in well with our zoo!) when Molly was hit by a car. It was devastating but Oscar was inconsolable. He would sit by the door and make crying noises for hours.
Years past and we received our posting to Gibraltar. By this time Oscar was twelve and Rupert (another rescue we had from him being four weeks old) was fifteen. We knew we couldn't take them due to the heat and their age but I couldn't leave them either.
My wonderful Dad and his wife Tracey then said they would have them. He lives in a cottage with a huge garden and they would be safe. So the tough decision was made.
So now we are back from Gibraltar but there was no way Dad and Tracey were going to hand them back. They had fallen completely in love with them...which is understandable.
Last night Dad rang to say he had bad news. Oscar has had to be put to sleep due to kidney failure.
I am gutted. I feel so guilty for not taking them to Gib with us and for not being there at the end for my little boy. I know that he had a lovely life...but we are all going to miss him so much.

Debs!!!

I wasn't going to put this on my blog but as 'someone' has plastered it on hers I will!! LOL!
I made this for the gorgeous Debs to say a little thanks for a couple of things she has helped me out with recently.
We've never met but I hope that one day we will...as I owe her a glass of wine or two!!
(And yes I have nicked the image off your blog as I didn't even photograph it!! LOL!)
Thanks for everything hun,x

The postie came today and he left me......

....a beautiful selection of goodies from Poppicrafts that are just so scrummy that I had to share them with you! I love Michelles shop and her service is so quick!
Then he gave me the most beautiful hand painted card from my friend Jenny back in Gibraltar. I've seen a lot of her work and she is so talented its scary!! Thanks Jenny!
And lastly...he gave me some fantastic stamped images from my SBS sister Lisa. I was not expecting them and they came as such a lovely surprise...thank you so much Lisa!

On another note I would just like to send my love and thoughts to one of our SBS sisters who has had a personal loss. You are in our thoughts Kelly,x
