Blogger Label clouds

A few people have asked me where I get my label clouds from. I normally pick templates that already have them incorporated...but this new one didn't so here is a cracking tutorial site to show you how to do one...phydeaux3
I promise that it is easy to do...well I managed it so that says a lot!! LOL!

10 Commandments for bloggers....

1. You shall not put your blog before your integrity.

2. You shall not make an idol of your blog.

3. You shall not misuse your screen name by using your anonymity to sin.

4. Remember the Sabbath day by taking one day off a week from your blog.

5. Honour your fellow-bloggers above yourselves and do not give undue significance to their mistakes.

6. You shall not murder someone else’s honour, reputation or feelings.

7. You shall not use the web to commit or permit adultery in your mind.

8. You shall not steal another person’s content.

9. You shall not give false testimony against your fellow-blogger.

10.You shall not covet your neighbour's blog ranking. Be content with your own content.

I found this on Pandy's blog and thought it was worth sharing! By now I am hysterically trying NOT to say something sarcastic so Tina you had better kick me now!!!

AMAZING NEWS!!

I e-mailed craftyribbons.co.uk a while ago to ask them if they could do me a £10 bag of ribbons for the appeal draw that is being held tomorrow (so excited!). I said I was more than happy to pay but would prefer one large bag instead of having to order lots of little bags......

THEY ARE DONATING IT FOR FREE TO THE APPEAL!!!!

How lovely and kind is that! So a big lovely thanks to Tony at craftyribbons.co.uk for being such a lovely person!!!

Thank you , thank you, thank you!

A grumpy quickie....

So you thought you could get rid of me that easily...not likely! LOL!

Yep I'm still here...stuck in bed and having a right grump about it. Not quite sure what happened...one minute I'm running round the house like a demented idjit sorting everything out for his lordships father arriving...the next I wake up in hospital. Whats that all about? Flipping meds. Luckily my eldest (God bless him) had the common sense to ring for an ambulance and then ring Tina (as she is a responsible adult?). My poor hubby got called back off his course and has spent all week running round after us all...my hero...LOL!

Anyway I'm hoping to be back on my feet in a couple of days so will hopefully be able to catch up with you all and some challenges. Have had loads of parcels arrive for the appeal so will post them all tomorrow.

Big thanks to Tina (for attempting to be a responsible adult and force feeding my kids McDonald's) and to everyone over on the other blog for your lovely messages. my lovely SBS sisters and to everyone that clicked that something was up and e-mailed.

Will catch up with you all over the next few days.
Lots of grumpy hugs,
Em.x

Goodbye my friend.

Most of you already know our sad news and for those of you that don't I can only apologise for not saying anything sooner.
My beautiful friends Debs has lost her battle to breast cancer and words just cannot describe how we all feel right now. Its happened so quickly and there were to many things left unsaid.
We met in 1988 at college and Debs, me and Julie would get up to all sorts of mischief and she is going to be so missed.
Julie and I are going to do some scrapbooks of her life so that the children will always remember Mummy and Dave her hubby has requested no flowers at the funeral as donations will be given to her favourite two charities.

I would like to say thanks to my hubby, Julie, Gill and Tina who have been my rocks since we heard and to all the girls on the other blog for your lovely words.

Not sure how to end this as I don't want to say goodbye and I feel incredibly angry that we have been cheated out of a beautiful, loving, gentle mum who laughed constantly and got drunk far to quickly on red wine...and if she is reading this she will be laughing as the first time we ever got drunk was when we were 16 in a grotty pub in Kings Langley and boy did we get into trouble that night!

I'll not be around for a bit but will catch up with you all soon. Em.x

Having a bloggy break...

Hello. Not going to be around for a few days as my gorgeous hubby is coming home for the weekend!! Over the moon as I have missed him so much and am already dreading next week when we will be parted again.

Apologies as well for not getting round to comment on everyone's creations but having a bad FM/ME flare up and looking at the screen for too long is causing major migraines. I'll catch up with you all next week.

Big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my pals Pam and Rachel as well...I hope you both have a lovely day!

The cards for the troops have started rolling in and I already have a boxful but there is another box to fill so keep sending them! A big thanks to Tina, Tracey and Jane for their wonderful cards and Jane also sent me a gorgeous handmade book as I had admired one on her blog...thanks girls! I'm going to put everyone's cards onto a photo show next week so everyone can see them.

I've also been given the most beautiful earrings and necklace that Tina has lovingly made for me but will show them next week as I want to take a really good photo to show the beautiful bead work.

And finally...another blogger has had me in tears this week but for a good reason. This beautiful card arrived from Cass and not only is it the most beautiful card but what she had written inside had me in tears. Cass is a very special person to me. We met a long time ago on a forum and started our blogs at the same time. Not only is she a great supporter of my blog she understands my frustrations as a mum and always has the best advice where kids are concerned. We will be meeting up and I can't wait to me her and her wonderful family. Thank you sweetheart.

Now stop yawning and pretend to show some interest in what I write! LOL!
Have a great weekend,
Crafty hugs,
Em.x

Hurricane Fay

To all the bloggers in the Florida area, especially Monica and Roz, keep safe and we are all praying that you get through this Cat 1 hurricane safely.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers and and we can only sit back and wait to hear from you.
To all our SBS I have asked that they let at least one of us know, when they can, that they are safe so please pass on any news that you hear.
We can now only sit back and wait and pray that this is not as bad as predicted.
Thinking of you all,

Its a poo world....

BUT if you are easily offended then log off my blog now!!!

Inflatable dog poo sculpture wreaks havoc

A modern art exhibit has wreaked havoc after blowing away from a museum in the Swiss city of Berne (Image © PA/PA Archive/PA Photos) A modern art exhibit has wreaked havoc after blowing away from a museum in the Swiss city of Berne.

The exhibit in question, titled “Complex Sh*t”, was an inflatable dog turd the size of a house.

The exhibit, a sculpture by American artist Paul McCarthy, was blown loose from its moorings at the Paul Klee centre. An inopportune gust of wind then carried it 200 yards.

The giant inflatable stool brought down an electricity line and smashed a greenhouse window before eventually coming to rest in the grounds of a children’s home.

Representatives of the museum later revealed that McCarthy’s work of art had a safety system that would automatically deflate the inflatable turd in the event of a storm but admitted the device had failed to activate.

Sorry girls....

I just don't know where this week has gone. I've hardly visited any of your blogs this week and I feel terrible after all the amazing support you have all given me recently!

I've been working on a couple of projects, sorting out the new blog and I've also just started a new one for my SBS sisters (with some fantastic help from Sammi!) which goes live on Monday...yikes!

Thanks to everyone that has joined us over at the new blog...its so lovely getting to know you all off blog if that makes sense!

I was also invited to join 'The Glitter Gossips' team over at UKS so am slowly starting to get to know them all. Teresa my SBS sister is already on the team and Sharon who runs it lives near me! I was really nervous about joining but they are all so lovely!

Sharon has invited me to a crop she is holding in September and I am going to drag Tina along and its going to be great finally putting faces to all the names I chat to on UKS.

Feeling very tired at the moment and Belle has been a little whirlwind all week...I would love some of her energy. In fact I'm so tired I'm not even going to link back to anyone I have mentioned in this post...so please forgive!

I hope everyone is ok and I promise that I will pop over and see you in the next few days...if I don't you have my permission to kick me!

Will post something crafty tomorrow...if I can find my way out of bed!
Hugs,
Em.x

If you need a laugh....

This is the fairy tale that should be read to little girls when they're little:

Once upon a time

~~~~~~~~
In a land far away,
~~~~~~~~

A beautiful, independent,
Self-assured princess

~~~~~~~~
Happened upon a frog as she sat
Contemplating ecological issues
On the shores of an unpolluted pond
In a verdant meadow near her castle.
~~~~~~~~

The frog hopped into the princess' lap
And said: ' Elegant Lady,
I was once a handsome prince,
Until an evil witch cast a spell upon me.

~~~~~~~~
One kiss from you, however,
And I will turn back
Into the dapper, young prince that I am
~~~~~~~~
And then, my sweet, we can marry

~~~~~~~~
And set up housekeeping in your castle
~~~~~~~~

With my mother,

~~~~~~~~
Where you can prepare my meals,
~~~~~~~~

Clean my clothes, bear my children,

~~~~~~~~
And forever feel
Grateful and happy doing so.
~~~~~~~~

That night,
~~~~~~~~
As the princess dined sumptuously
~~~~~~~~
On lightly sautéed frog legs
~~~~~~~~
Seasoned in a white wine
~~~~~~~
And onion cream sauce,
~~~~~~~~
She chuckled and thought to herself:
~~~~~~~~
I don't f***in think so.

Well it made me giggle especially as hubby is in a foul mood and the kids are driving me nuts!! LOL!

Interesting!

You Are a Chimera

You are very outgoing and well connected to many people.

Incredibly devoted to your family and friends, you find purpose in nurturing others.

You are rarely alone, and you do best in the company of others.

You are incredibly expressive, and people are sometimes overwhelmed by your strong emotions.

I'd love to see what you are!

You either love it...or you hate it! (No not marmite!)

Last night we were having a discussion on Heather's blog about word verification.
If you get a chance please pop over and see what we were all mumbling about!
Me? I hate WV...its bad enough stuggling to see the screen at the best of times with my FM...but throw fibrofog in...and I spend all night clicking on the disabled button to get a half decent lot of letters I can see!!! Have pity on me and free the WV!!! PMSL!

My little haven and updates!

This is my little craft haven away from the world. There is also a large walk in wardrobe, just out of shot, that holds all my sewing stash.

Wasn't planning on coming back on today as Fridays are always a bit busy in our house...but several things have happened so thought I'd share them...if anyone is interested...if not then log off now!!
SSAFA have been in touch and they are going to give us some extra support whilst hubby goes away. Can't tell you how relieved I am as I was really worried about Belle.
Thanks to everyone for your e-mails about Jake. His collar bone isn't giving him to many problems and he is back with the fracture clinic next week. He has not moaned once about the pain and I am so proud of him.
FINALLY had a letter from the solicitor's today. If anyone had told me that getting remarried (3 years ago!!) was going to cause so many problems with surname changes I wouldn't have bothered! Only kidding...love him to bits!
And the best bit of news I can share...whilst I was in the shower Belle came in and said she had used the toilet. Her nappy was off so I went to investigate...dreading what I was going to find...and she had used the potty!!!! So happy as she had shown no interest so thrilled that she is finally coming round to the idea.
I'd also like to say thanks to everyone for all the visitors I have had lately and all the lovely comments. It really has meant a lot especially when I know that so many of you are not having a particularly good time at the moment.Crafty peeps really are a nice bunch!!
Take care,

CHOCOLATE!!!

What Your Taste in Chocolate Says About You

You are unique, creative, and fascinating.

You don't do what's expected of you.

You go for what's unknown and uncharted.

You are emotionally expressive and sensitive.

You're effected by everything around you.

Your friends appreciate your open heart, but they are afraid of hurting your feelings.

You love being around people. Friendships are important to you.

You feel lost when you're by yourself... so you tend to avoid being alone.

That summed me up pretty well...your turn!

***BLOGGER WARNING***

Please DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT look at the Poppicraft's site. If you do enter this site a little Green Goblin will come out of your screen, steal your bank card, and order you lots and lots of luscious goodies.
It's true I swear. This photo proves it. I swear it was the Goblin that ordered it all...not me!!

PMSL!!!

A fox, some soup and a lovely blog!

We have a visitor. Every morning at 6am a tiny fox visits our garden. We noticed him three days a go and he is just so beautiful. He doesn't seem to mind me watching him and tomorrow morning I'm going to try and get a photo of him. Its little things like this that make me appreciate being back in the UK so much!
And before anyone mentions it...yes I am rethinking the whole chicken thing!

No crafting today. Once a month I have a 'soup' day where I make three or four different varieties of homemade soup. My only problem today was that we had visitors turn up this afternoon...with cake (which is never a bad thing!)and last nights Mexican evening has haunted me. I was introduced to a drink that was made up of port and a blue wicked...it tasted like vimto and was delicious...shame my head doesn't think so today!

And I found a blog today that literally had me in tears of laughter. I have to share it, icklepickle as it would be rude not to!! I don't know the bloggers name but the way she looks at life is inspiring and I think I am now going to become a regular visitor.

A group of us are going out to a county fayre tomorrow...I'm tempted to take all my tomato plants and hand them out as they are literally taking over the house!!
Speak soon,
