Got a round tuit!

The girls over at thisthursday have very kindly provided us all with a round 'tuit'....'So we want you to think about all those craft projects that you have been meaning to get a round to, choose one and do it.'

I am embarrassed to say that I started this cross stitch at the beginning of April whilst waiting in Gibraltar airport to come home to the UK. I completed the heart and then put it away for it to stay in a box until two days ago! Poor little cat! LOL! (Also need to mention that hubby is not happy with more cross stitch as its all over our house!)

Not quite sure where the days are going right now. Have spoken to several of my SBS sisters and it seems that everyone is struggling to keep up with 'blurfing' and life in general. Arhhhhhh.....just drink more wine!

Hugs,
Em.x

Puddy cat!

Hi. This is the card I have made for the abc-challenge. Its all about animals this week and as a cat fanatic I just had to do another one of Lou's cats that you can download at CCC. The whiskers are wire and the papers are once again Basic Grey...but would you really expect anything else by now!! LOL!

Oscar, my little boy

Fifteen years ago I received a phonecall to say that a cat had been thrown out of a car in Peterborough. When we found her she was giving birth and luckily all five kittens survived. Mum and her babies were handed over the to the Cats Protection League and I would phone on an almost daily basis to see how they were doing.
Eight weeks later three of the kittens had been rehomed but nobody was interested in a tiny scrap of a ginger boy or his black and white sister.
So Oscar and Molly came home to us. We had three fantastic years with them (they fitted in well with our zoo!) when Molly was hit by a car. It was devastating but Oscar was inconsolable. He would sit by the door and make crying noises for hours.
Years past and we received our posting to Gibraltar. By this time Oscar was twelve and Rupert (another rescue we had from him being four weeks old) was fifteen. We knew we couldn't take them due to the heat and their age but I couldn't leave them either.
My wonderful Dad and his wife Tracey then said they would have them. He lives in a cottage with a huge garden and they would be safe. So the tough decision was made.
So now we are back from Gibraltar but there was no way Dad and Tracey were going to hand them back. They had fallen completely in love with them...which is understandable.
Last night Dad rang to say he had bad news. Oscar has had to be put to sleep due to kidney failure.
I am gutted. I feel so guilty for not taking them to Gib with us and for not being there at the end for my little boy. I know that he had a lovely life...but we are all going to miss him so much.

The cats whiskers!!!

Hello everyone. Not been to good this past week as having a bit of a bad flare up with my FM but receiving all your lovely birthday cards really cheered me up! A big thank you to all my SBS sisters who sent cards as well!
I need to get a bit more organised myself and start writing down birthdays etc but sitting at my craft desk is a bit of a nightmare at the mo so I PROMISE to get more on top of things next week!
Some good news...my tomato seeds are now little plants and I can't wait to be able to make my own chutney's again this year.
I've also managed to lose 7lbs in weight since we got back to the UK...only another *%"! stone to go!! LOL!
Anyway enough of me rambling on as normal!! I hope you are all keeping well and everyone is having a peaceful start to the summer.
This card is for a friends wedding anniversary. The whiskers are made from black wire, the heart from wood and the template was a download from Charmed Cards and Crafts
And yes I have realised that its similar to my chicken card...but I hadn't realised I had used the same colours until afterwards...oh well!

The cats whiskers!

I loved making this card! Its may not look very professional but I made it for my friends teenage daughter, Sarah, who loves pink and cats! Personally I think teenagers are the hardest group to make for and I normally dread making them but I actually enjoyed putting this one together and making it girlie!

Purr-fect!

Gill and I both love cats and over the past 2 years have fostered over 45 kittens and I would hate to think how many adult cats! We had got to the point where I had a litter in my bedroom, a litter in the bathroom, an adult cat in my sons room and that did not include my 6! Luckily hubby was away so was not having to put up with the chaos!!

Gill was looking after my daughter on this particular week and rang me to say that a very ill Siamese kitten had been added to my collection...and was in my downstairs loo!!

The poor mite was in a terrible state and was riddled with fleas and ringworm. She also had a crooked tail and was obviously dumped as she was not 'perfect'. Gill took her home as I was full and 'Coco' has never left. She is a real scabby cat and would never win any awards but to us she will always be beautiful.

I made this card for Gill and the disk (which is made out of sauce lid!) says 'purr-fect friend'....well that's what she is!!!
