Witches and Cr%p!

Hello. This is the box that I altered for Tina for her birthday. It actually started life clear...then got the Elf distressing treatment! I loved making it as it was such a personal gift and I have included all of her favourite things including witches, tarot cards and purple beads.
I made the bracelet using her favourite colours and butterflies as she loves them....
And I did warn her that due to time issues her card would be crap...but she didn't believe me....

She was in hysterics when she saw it and I'm so glad that I went to all that effort with it! PMSL!!
If you would like to commission a crap card like this please do not hesitate to contact me...lol!
I am also going to enter the altered box into CraftawayaSunday challenge which this week is....magical!

The colours of Autumn...4x4

Hello. The challenge over at Mixed Media Monday this week is to make something using Autumnal colours. I'd already started on this 4x4 at the weekend so hope it fits in with what they wanted.
I used distress inks, alcohol inks, acrylic paint, spritzed Perfect Pearls for the background which was also stamped with a vintage style leaf. The leaves are stamped shrink plastic and the tree was a black and white down load that I coloured.
Can't think of anything else...oh yes...the sun was actually a Belle 'splodge' that I had to then fit in with the theme...it was purple to start with!
Hope everyone's having a good week.
Big hugs,
Em.x

Thursday's 'mojo' and a new DT...

Hello. This weeks challenge over at thisthursday is 'Mojo surfing...You can either Click on any random 5 of our participants blogroll links and take inspiration from something on each of those blogs or something on one of them or click on any 1 of our participants blogroll links and then follow 1 link on there and so on until you reach 5 links and then take your inspiration from there.

Well I ended up on Zuzu's blog and was over the moon as her creations are absolutely stunning! It took me forever to get there though as I had to get through 4 other blogs and they were all gorgeous as well...I love blog surfing as the inspiration out there is amazing.

Anyway there is no way I can come even close to Zuzu's masterpieces but she did inspire me to try different backgrounds and textures. On this card I have stamped, distressed, torn, punched, filed and basically grunged it all up!

I used distressed inks to make my own background...then stamped over it...then sprayed with water...then sprayed with perfect pearls in copper...oh and then did a bit more stamping! I threw chalks, inks and doodling at it and even though it has not turned out like I imagined I really had fun making it...and that's what its all about!

Now....do any of you fancy being on a new DT? Sammi is bringing out a new challenge blog 'Craftymuse' which will also highlight her own images. I am thrilled to bits as she has asked me to join the new team and there are now 4 of us...but I know Sammi is looking for another two who will be asked to join after our first challenge! So if you fancy being on the team just take part in the challenge which is going to be announced very, very soon!

Hugs,

Em.x

Golden oldies....

Hello. The challenge over at DCM this week is to make a card using some of your old stash.
The only problem was that I have so much 'old stash' that I still struggled to decided what to use!
So this is made using some old BG papers that were forgotten about...a stamp that I've not used for ages (from Crafty Individuals I think) which I embossed and an old button.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend...and I promise to stop playing with my blog...I just wanted to confuse you all! LOL!

Altered card swop....I hope!

Hello. Firstly I'm so sorry for not getting round every one's blogs today...I have missed seeing every one's creations but sorting my lists out took longer than I thought...and I still have my SBS one to do! I'll get it sorted tomorrow and will pop round to have a look at what you have all been up to.
I've made this altered CD for one of the girls on the Docrafts forum. We have been paired up for the July swop so I just hope she likes it!
Papers are BG and the stamp is by Elusive Images.
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and didn't get sun burnt!

Ist attempt at a CD!

Hello all.
Well just got in from the craft class so thought I'd better get this altered CD on now as the rest of the week is going to be a wee bit busy. The papers are Basic Grey Sultry and the image is Pinkpetticoat. The colours really don't show up too well as they are much brighter especially the ribbons.
Tonight was one of those nights where everyone giggled over nothing! Even though Gill and myself ran the craft club in Gibraltar everything we demonstrated was self taught so its really nice to finally have someone show me different techniques. June who does the demos is an extremely funny lady who has the patience of a saint with us lot!!
Also if you get the chance can you please pop over to Tina's blog and say hello. We met at the class and she has the same sense of humour as me and is a really lovely person. (Tina you can pay me the £5 later!!LOL!)She is also one incredibly brave person who, one day, will change a child's life forever...her blog will make you realise just how fortunate some of us are.
Hope everyone's having a lovely evening.
Hugs,

(I forgot to mention that I have been tagged FOUR times this week..phew...some of you are gonna be real busy once I start handing this out!! LOL! I'll get them done this week and many thanks to the evil four who passed them onto me!!!)

Art Deco and birdies!

I made this one a few days ago but just not got round to putting it on here. It's going to be sent to my friend Bev who is still recovering from major surgery. The papers and stamp are by Imaginisce.

This is the card I made on Tuesday night at Sally's craft shop. Really wasn't overly keen on the images to start with but quite like it now. Just thank God my Mum loves Art Deco!! There is actually embossing around the images but it doesn't show up in the photo which is a shame. I must admit I loved working with the black card and will now use it a lot more.

Well it's been a tough couple of days and I'm just so glad this week is over. Yesterday I had a meeting with SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) and this morning it was back to the Solicitors and then a mad rush round to the Doctors.
Emotionally I'm feeling and thinking so much more positively but physically I feel like I have been hit by a bus!
But the sun is peeking through the clouds. There's been a light shower of rain and its all smells so fresh. Last night we sat out till late with some friends and watched the bats chasing each other round the garden and the adjoining field. Our little fox popped in to have a look as well. Its the first time we have seen him out at night and he is definitely putting on weight!
So for now, in our little haven in Scotland, all is well.
Lets just hope it lasts.

Caged birds....

But only homemade! This card is for my Mum and her hubby as it is their 10th wedding anniversary this week...congratulations Mum!!
The template is from Crafty templates and the paper is Basic Grey. Embossed the cage using my Bug and used Perfect Pearls for the gilded look.
The heart is chipboard which I triple embossed.
(Shame that the photo is so bad as I actually liked this card for a change!! LOL!!)

I have been tagged quite a few times lately so will start tagging back this weekend when I have some more time ;)

Lil' Chicken!

My mother has chickens...in fact that is what gets talked about the most on our weekly catch up calls!

So this card seemed so appropriate for her birthday...it was a big birthday but I am under the threat of death not to reveal it!! LOL!

Tweet anniversary!

I loved making this card for my friend's Tracey and Nick's anniversary. They are the nuttiest couple I know and we have been friends now for about 14 years. The only problem is we have only ever been in the same country once but hopefully our move to Scotland will mean that we finally get time together!

Peacock

I'm hoping to have the camera situation sorted out today as I have a 'sneaky peak' to show you that will be revealed next week. Don't get to excited...its just something that has kept me occupied for days!! LOL!
This card is for my mum...so I hope she does not peak on here before I get the chance to send it!!
She lives in NZ on a farm and recently took on some peacocks.
The card is embroidered and has been given an aged appearance with old gold ink. I put holes round the edge of the card and used eyelets. Then used some gorgeous 'eyelash' fibre to sew threw them all.

Crafters block.....

So to get our creative juices flowing again Gill and I set ourselves a challenge. Both of us had beautiful papers and stamps from http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/ so we each made a card to see what different styles and techniques we could come up with.
Gill's is beautiful with soft lilacs, pinks and purples. She used beads and ribbon to add texture and a graduated Versamarker for the stamp. Its so lovely and girlie!
Mine on the other hand is made using deep colours, chipboard, ribbon and acetate. To get the effect with the acetate I first stamped the image in deep red onto my paper. Next I stamped the image again using a black Stazon onto the acetate.
I then put the acetate on top of my paper image and slightly moved it so that you can see the red underneath the black.
The acetate is attached with brads.
We were amazed at how different they had turned out and both wanted each others!! LOL!
